WHAT WE DID

Marketing Strategy • eCommerce • Social Media Strategy

The Challenge

North Harvest CSA received 30 hours of marketing services support by joining our Fresh Food Connections program. We set out to help Ashley TenHarmsel recommit to marketing her business.

Located in rural Calumet Township in the Keewanau Peninsula, North Harvest CSA needed to get creative to reach new tech-saavy customers as well as an older demographic that didn’t spend much time online.

The Solution

We developed a marketing plan that was clear and approachable, making it easier to stick with. It also included specific strategies to reach offline customers, and a social media strategy to support North Harvest’s growth online.

MaRKETING STRaTEGY

A North Harvest CSA Farm stand flyer, that explains the hours, where the farm stand is located, and the products that are for sale.

We built a marketing plan that included both digital strategies and old-school strategies like putting up flyers on community boards and running radio ads.

On the digital side of things, we set North Harvest CSA up with an online storefront on GrownBy. This allows their more tech-friendly customers to place an order ahead of time for pickup at the farm stand or farmers market. For busy customers who have planned their meals ahead of time and know exactly what they need, online ordering is a great way to offer convenience for many farms.

SOCIaL MEDIa

Finally, we worked with Ashley to develop a social media strategy and trained her on how to make use of new social features that have a great ROI.

In the four months since working with our team, North Harvest CSA has increased its Instagram followers by 17%.

We can’t wait to see what North Harvest CSA accomplishes next!

“It was a joy to work with Christina and Tara. They were extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful and boosted my confidence in what I am doing. The resources and guidance they provided has been beyond helpful.”
